Wedding planning is a daunting task.  You're newly engaged - excited and nervous at the same time.  Planning every single detail.  The majority of the time, couples choose their wedding photographer later in the planning process.  Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event and not something you can simply recreate for photos.  Since I am a photographer, I wanted to share this with you.

Three (3) Questions to Ask When Choosing Your Wedding Photographer
  1. What is the style of wedding photography you love?  Afterall, you want to work with a photographer who's style you love.  That includes the types of images (posing/candid/detail) and the final editing!  Can you see yourself in these images?  A photographer usually has a shooting style AND an editing final product style.  Do you like what you see in their work?  In my photography shooting style, I like to cover all the major wedding day occurrences, capturing emotion when and wherever possible.  I like to have a nice blend of the ceremony, family images, wedding party images, detail images, and reception/dinner images.  This provides you with coverage from start to finish that includes a blend of candid, staged, and detail images you will cherish!  A way to relive the day through what you see!
  2. Is the photographer someone you "click" with, could be Friends for Life?  Your wedding photographer is not only a vendor and not like all your other wedding day vendors.  Cake vendor, you make that decision on how the cake tastes and looks, right?  Caterer vendor, you choose that as well on tastes, menu flexibility, and final presentation.  You choose your wedding venue on proximity to where you grew up/where you live/family lives/feel is romantic... Your wedding photographer should be someone that matches you and your fiancé's personalities!  This is important because your wedding photographer will be by your side the entire day - documenting and capturing the emotions of your special day!  I hope you think of me a friend to help guide you in your wedding planning and wedding day timeline.  My wedding photography collections include an engagement session.  I do this because I feel it allows us to get to know each other on a deeper personal level than just thought of as a vendor.  Talking while we're out walking and photographing you for your wedding engagement or "Save the Date" images allows me to better understand YOUR LOVE STORY!  I want to hear how you met, where you went on your first date, about how you arrived at your song, your honeymoon, your future...
  3. Is the photographer someone you trust?  Is it someone that is a true professional?  Have you been in ongoing communication with your photographer and not ghosted for months; are you confident they will even show up on your wedding day; have a real business; have more than just a Facebook page; have insurance coverage; have payment options; have ample gear including backup gear; have image backup plan in place; have rave reviews?...Once you have chosen me as your wedding photographer, we will meet face-to-face.  If distance or timing initially prohibits this, we can utilize technology to meet/talk via Facetime or speak over the phone.  I want to hear about your wedding day plans.  Give me all the details - colors, flowers, wedding party, family....  I am an experienced photographer with twenty years of experience.  I have even been published multiple times and even internationally recognized in an art gallery in Athens, Greece!  I have Flash Factor Wedding Photography on social media and in a website meaning I am invested and established and didn't just create a Facebook page last week.  Once you have chosen me as your photographer, I will present you with a wedding contract that spells out everything about your wedding day photography/videography coverage. This includes emergency photographer, what's covered during your day, wedding day timeline preparation, final editing timeline, how your final images are accessed/delivered.  I have insurance coverage to provide peace of mind for you and for me.  I provide you with multiple payment options and plans.  You may pay with cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, Paypal, or credit card and receive documented receipts of payment.  In regard to photography gear, I only photograph with professional camera bodies that contain dual slots.  This means I am photographing your wedding day on multiple memory cards as the first step of backup plan. Images are copied from the memory cards to a portable backup drive and then a stationary backup drive.  All this happens even before the editing process even starts.  I will bring multiple camera lenses with different focal lengths (zoom and/or prime) to include I can get the shot I am after whether I am photographing you getting ready, ceremony from the back of the church, bride and groom portraits, entire wedding party, wedding ring detail images, inside or outside.... As an experienced photographer I can utilize natural light and off-camera flash lighting to capture the shot.

Your wedding day is a once in a lifetime event and I am honored to not only be your engagement and wedding professional photographer, but also your friend in helping ease your worries through the planning process and providing images you will cherish for years to come!
